Stunning scenery, world’s best talent and Kiwi hospitality is set to be showcased to a global audience with Winter Games New Zealand carrying out a diverse event yet again. Winter Olympic, Paralympic and X Games stars are heading to New Zealand’s Southern Alps once again for the first major winter sports championships of the season. They compete for glory in varied sports such as freestyle skiing, snowboarding, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and curling. The Winter Games New Zealand will take place at the Southern Lakes region from August 24th to September 8th, 2018.

 

The Winter Games New Zealand are one of the world’s top five winter sports competitions and the only one in the southern hemisphere. They are also New Zealand’s largest recurring sports event. It’s a uniquely Kiwi experience that athletes, coaches, judges and spectators all rave about. The relaxed atmosphere, friendly people, sporting action and festival fun with live acts and DJs – host towns Queenstown and Wanaka look forward to the biggest party on southern snow!
