Copa Kitley GKA Big Air World Cup 2024

Jericoacoara (BRA), 05th – 09th November, 2024

The Qatar Airways GKA Kite World Tour is set to electrify the shores of Jericoacoara, Brazil, from 5th to 9th November with high-stakes competition in its three big air divisions - TwinTip, Hydrofoil and Surfboard. Making its debut at this iconic Brazilian kiteboarding spot, a total of 57 athletes will compete for world titles in the Surfboard and Hydrofoil disciplines, while the TwinTip division will host a normal World Cup event. The Hydrofoil Big Air title race is being led by France's Charles Brodel, the five-time world champion who took a dominant win in Sylt, Germany, earlier this season. Lorenzo Casati, who competes in both hydrofoil and surfboard, is expected to give Brodel stiff competition, while Switzerland's Peer Schnyder, third in Sylt, will be aiming for another podium finish. In the surfboard division, reigning world champion James Carew of Australia returns from injury determined to defend his title after winning last year in Tarifa, Spain. Netherlands’ Zara Hoogenraad, who won the Qatar Airways GKA Big Air Kite World Champion title in July, is looking forward to defending her crown in the Twin-Top discipline.
