On March 9th, 2025, the starting pistol for the 55th edition of the Engadin Skimarathon will be fired in the Upper Engadin, Switzerland. More than 11.600 athletes, pros and amateurs, have registered for the second largest cross-country skiing event in the world and the largest cross-country skiing event in Switzerland this year. Among the male participants are world-class athletes like French biathlon legend Martin Fourcade, Jules Chappaz (FRA), last year’s winner Magne Haga from Norway and American Jacob Adicoff. In the women’s field, local hero Selina Gasparin will headline the favourites, while the German duo of Hanna Kolb and Elisabeth Schicho will aim for a podium spot as well. The athletes will face 42 strenuous kilometers over frozen lakes, while passing typical Engadine villages and surrounded by a picturesque and snowy Swiss Alpine landscape. The best athletes will complete the course in a time of around 1.5 hours.
