Athlete Profile Jakob Schubert (AUT)

Jakob Schubert is a professional sport climber from Austria and one of the most successful of his generation with big goals, including the next medal – maybe even in gold - at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. His success speaks for itself: he is a seven-time overall World Cup winner and holds the record for most individual World Cup victories. After his bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and his recent victory at the 2023 World Championships in Bern, Jakob now has his sights set on Paris 2024.
In order to achieve this, he trains five times a week in the climbing gym in Innsbruck (AUT), mostly by feeling and motivation, but rarely without a reason. He excels not only on the rock, but also in difficult climbing and bouldering competitions. He loves to climb the hardest routes and sets his goals higher than anyone else. However, his top priorities are always fun and joy. His urge to move is not only irrepressible, but has always been deeply rooted. The main thing is that his ambition is satisfied!

The profile of Jakob Schubert in a 45-minute rough cut contains: An in-depth interview in English and German at his home, the best climbing successes of the last years with outstanding pictures from his projects “BIG” – “Alphane” – “Perfecto Mundo 9b+” – “Gritstone-Hyanea”, his training and preparation in the climbing gym in Innsbruck, as well as interviews with his father and climbing legend and 4-time world champion Adam Ondra. And now, the ultimate challenge is waiting for him: the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
