GKA Kite-Surf World Cup 2024 – Sal (CPV)

Sal (CPV), 16th – 25th February, 2024

The Qatar Airways GKA Kite World Tour kicks off the season with the Kite-Surf discipline. The battle for the crown will begin on the waves of Cape Verde's Sal Island, with either Ponta Preta or Kite Beach in the mix, depending on conditions, against the stunning backdrop of this picturesque paradise. A total of 37 athletes - 22 men and 15 women - from 16 countries are competing. The reigning world champions, Italy's Airton Cozzolino and USA's Moona Whyte, will travel to the South Atlantic islands for the first of five scheduled stops in the Kite-Surf discipline on four continents. With Whyte claiming to only be competing in this one stop, the doors are open for France's Capucine Delannoy to reclaim her Kite-Surf crown, or Switzerland's Camille Losserand, the Qatar Airways Big Air Kite Surfboard World Champion, and Brazil's Kesiane Rodrigues. On the men's side, Matchu Lopes (ESP) will be on Cozzolino's heels, as will Brazil's Pedro Matos.
