The Golden Roof Challenge returns to the heart of Innsbruck, Austria for its big 20th anniversary!
On May 18th, the world’s best Long Jumpers and Pole Vaulters will compete for important world ranking points in order to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris on the WA-certified largest mobile athletics facility in the world, "The FlySwat”.
Among the field of world-class athletes will be long jumpers Lester Lescay Gay (CUB - No. 5 World-Ranking 2020, personal best: 8,28m), Arnovis Dalmero (COL - South-America Champion 2021, Pan-America Champion 2023, PB: 8,20m) as well as special guest Markus Rehm from Germany (current World record holder, multiple Paralympics-Champion, PB: 8,72m). In the women’s, we can expect a close battle between Colombia’s Natalia Linares (No. 18 World-Ranking 2023, PB: 6,86m), Austrian local hero Ingeborg Grünwald (3rd place ECH U23 2023, PB: 6,42m) and Sarah Leech from France (National Champion, PB: 6,24m). Over to the women’s pole vault, the favourite for the victory in Innsbruck will certainly be Czech star Amálie Švábíková (3rd ECH 2023 indoor, Final WCH 2024 indoor, PB: 4,72m), while Ukranian Yana Hladiychuk (Final World Championships 2022 indoor, PB: 4,61m) and Anjul Knäsche from Germany (multiple Natinal Champion, PB: 4,55m) will do their best to challenge Švábíková. And finally in the men’s pole vault, three American athletes have personal bests of 5,91m and 5,90m to their names: Zachery Bradford (No. 8 World-Ranking 2023), Austin Miller (No. 7 World-Ranking 2024) and Matt Ludwig (Winner Pan-American-Games 2023). Who will be in their best form in Innsbruck? And will local hero Riccardo Klotz have a say in reaching the podium places? The winners will be crowned on Saturday evening, May 18th!
