Winter Games New Zealand, the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest snow sports event is back in 2022. The Games will include 16 events across alpine, freeride and freestyle (park and pipe) disciplines between the 27th August and 11th September.

 

Episode one – The North Face Frontier 4* (Freeride) show – The North Face Frontier is a kiwi freeride institution at the iconic Remarkables Ski Area in Queenstown. It runs in a weather window between Saturday 3rd and Thursday 8th September and is a big mountain freeride competition. The North Face Frontier comprises a 2* and a 4* event run on two separate days within a 6 day weather window. Both events are Freeride World Tour Qualifier events and will host many of the top names of the Freeride World Tour as well as current World Champion Jess Hotter from Ohakune.

 

Episode two – Continental Cups Halfpipe and Slopestyle Show – This will focus on our Continental Cups of Halfpipe and Slopestyle at Cardrona Alpine resort and will feature not only kiwi Olympians, but also Junior World Champions Ruby Andrews and Gustav Legnavsky, as well as international stars. This episode will also have a feature on Alice Robinson at Coronet Peak and Corey Peters our Paralympic medallist at the Alpine Super G day.

 

Episode three – The Stomp Show events = Park Jam and Big Air – These are innovative style driven competitions where athletes have the ability to show off their talent and flair. It will have Olympic medallists and international stars compete on the Olympic size Big Air Jump at Cardrona Alpine Resort and the specially built park featuring rails and jumps.
