World's Big-Air Kite elite kicks off 2024 season

Lords of Tram GKA Big-Air Kite World Cup 2024 - Barcarès (FRA)

30th March – 28th April, Barcarès (FRA)

The first Twin-Tip Big-Air Kite event of the Qatar Airways GKA Kite World Tour 2024 will take place in Barcarès, France from March 30th to April 28th. The sixth edition of the Lords of Tram will see 24 men and 12 women compete in the opening round of the GKA Big-Air Kite World Championship title race. The event is named after the famously strong Tramontana winds that blow down from the Pyrenees over the shallow waters of the Barcarès lagoon.

Reigning Twin-Tip World Champion Andrea Principi from Italy will be looking to defend his title he won so spectacularly last year in Tarifa, Spain. But he will face tough competition from former GKA Freestyle World Champion Arthur Guillebert (FRA), Lorenzo Casati (ITA), Marc Jacobs (NZL), Jamie Overbeek (NED), Josué San (BRA) and Jeremy Burlando (ESP). With the women’s reigning and two-time Twin-Tip Big-Air World Champion Mikaili Sol (USA) missing the opener, the door is open for a number of other top riders to claim the Lords of Tram title, including last year's runner-up in Barcarès Angely Bouillot from France, Nathalie Lambrecht (SWE), Zara Hoogenraad (NED) and Francesca Maini (GBR).
