FISA World Rowing Championships 2014

August 24th to August 31st 2014, Amsterdam (NED)

For athletes and spectators alike, it’s the highlight of the rowing season: from August 24th to August 31st 2014, the World Rowing Championships will take place on world’s oldest manmade rowing course, the Bosbaan, located only 7km from the historic city center of Amsterdam. The Bosbaan was officially opened by Queen Wilhelmina on June 12th 1937. In nearly 80 years of existence, the course has gone through many changes and improvements. Originally possessing five lanes only, by 2000 it had been widened to eight lanes with timing facilities upgraded to meet FISA standards for organizing international regattas.
