Grueling length, harsh race conditions, and impressive athletic performances: triathlon has experienced a unique boom in recent years. Many consider it as the "king of all sports disciplines" as it requires so many different skills from the athletes. The best of them compete in the world's leading triathlon series, the famed Ironman Triathlon Series that culminates in the Ironman World Championship. In 2013, quattro media distributes eight of the most exciting events of the European leg of the series.
Germany (Wiesbaden) - August 11th
The European Championship in Wiesbaden will be the only European Ironman 70.3 qualification race for the World Championships in Kona, offering 30 slots for the athletes. Lake "Raunheimer Waldsee" is the venue for the swim. The challenging bike course will lead the athletes right into Wiesbaden. The finish line of the final half marathon run is right in front of world-famous Kurhaus Wiesbaden.
