Grueling length, harsh race conditions, and impressive athletic performances: triathlon has experienced a unique boom in recent years. Many consider it as the "king of all sports disciplines" as it requires so many different skills from the athletes. The best of them compete in the world's leading triathlon series, the famed Ironman Triathlon Series that culminates in the Ironman World Championship. In 2013, quattro media distributes eight of the most exciting events of the European leg of the series.
Sweden (Kalmar) - August 17th
At the 2nd Ironman Sweden/Kalmar on August 17th, 2013, athletes will swim in the Kalmar Strait, compete during the biking portion in a typical Swedish scenery and run through the beautiful historic town center past Kalmar Castle before they finish at the main square of Kalmar. At this event, former pro cyclist Magnus Bäckstedt (SWE) will make his Ironman debut.
