FISA World Rowing Cup I 2014 - Sydney (AUS)

FISA World Rowing Cup I 2014 - Sydney (AUS) - March 28th - 30th

The Rowing World Cup is an annual team competition, created in 1997, comprising three international regattas per year. A Rowing World Cup Champion is awarded in each boat class to the nation with the most points won in that boat class from the three regattas. Rowing World Cup regattas are held in the boat classes of the Olympic programme in effect at the time of the regattas. Each Rowing World Cup regatta also offers races in non-Olympic boat categories - these boat categories do not score points at Rowing World Cup regattas. In 2014, the Rowing World Cup series will take place in:

•         Sydney (AUS) from 28th - 30th March,
•         Aiguebelette (FRA) from 20th - 22nd June and
•         Lucerne (SUI) from 11th -13th July 2014

The Sydney International Regatta Centre was built for the 2000 Olympics and is situated 44 km west of Sydney Olympic Park. The summer weather in the southern hemisphere and the "Olympic" set-up will offer perfect conditions for the kick-off event of the season. Plus, Australia as a traditional rowing nation will certainly offer the international athletes a warm welcome.
