Visit Qatar GKA Freestyle-Kite World Cup Finals 2023 – Fuwairit (QAT)

Fuwairit (QAT), 5th - 9th December

The last and final stop of the Visit Qatar GKA Freestyle-Kite World Cup will take place from December 5th to 9th, returning to where it all began in February - Qatar. The finals of the Freestyle-Kite discipline will be held on the lagoon of Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort, with its mirror-flat waters and steady breezes, where the men's and women's champions will be crowned. Brazilian Carlos Mario, a four-time freestyle world champion, currently leads the overall standings, closely followed by reigning world champion Gianmaria Coccoluto of Italy. Just a few points behind the leading pair is Switzerland's Maxime Chabloz, a man on the move after finishing second in Brazil. The women's competition is just as close, with Brazilian Bruna Kajiya in the lead after three wins out of four so far. She will be aiming for her fourth Freestyle World Championship crown. The reigning and four-time GKA Freestyle World Champion, Mikaili Sol (USA), is in second place. Spain's Claudia León is in third place, but lost her chance for the title in Brazil after being eliminated in the semi-finals. She is still in contention for a podium finish.
