Final GWA Wave World Cup of the season

GWA Wingfoil World Cup 2023 - Dakhla (MAR)

Dakhla (MAR), September 22nd - October 1st, 2023

The GWA Wingfoil World Cup 2023 will hold its final wave event in Dakhla, Morocco from September 22nd to October 1st. Twenty-four men and nine women from 11 nations around the world will compete against the dramatic backdrop of the Sahara Desert for the inaugural Wingfoil Wave World Championship title. In the women's competition, Whyte and 16-year-old Suardiaz are tied at the top of the standings after the American veteran and the Spaniard each claimed a win at the previous stops. In Morocco, the title will go to the woman who finishes ahead of the other. Of course, Suardiaz will be looking for a third consecutive crown this year, having claimed her first world titles in the Surf-Freestyle and FreeFly-Slalom disciplines earlier this month in Hvide Sande, Denmark. The men's competition is hard to call. The favorites are Cape Verde's Wesley Brito, France's Hugo Marin & Malo Guénolé (FRA).
