Engadinsnow - St. Moritz/Silvaplana (SUI)
Freeriding: Long established event in the heart of the Swiss Alps!
Engadinsnow 2019
February 2019, St. Moritz-Silvaplana (Switzerland)
A spectacularly steep and rocky powder face, a unique competition and some of the
best freeriders in the world: the Engadinsnow has been held annually since 2003 and
is therefore one of the oldest freeride events in the Alps. Despite its long tradition,
this classic event at Corvatsch (3451 meters) in the Swiss ski resort of
St. Moritz-Silvaplana still focuses on innovation. The north face of the Corvatsch is up to
65 degrees steep and offers ideal conditions for freeriders with lots of rocks and deep
powder snow fields. Local mountain guides and the safety team work in the area for weeks
before the event to ensure the best possible safety for the international athletes. 120 of
the world’s best freeriders from 16 nations have registered for the 17th edition of
this legendary event. Some of them also take part in the world’s largest Freeride
World Qualifier, which takes place here on the same weekend as part of the Engadinsnow.
