WoF #34/2007 Avalanche Trophy 2

Avalanche Trophy 2.
The 2007 season of the Avalanche trophy, with its four stages, is now well underway! Hundreds of riders are competing over four stages, at four of Europe’s downhill Meccas. The first was a 4-cross stage, in the heart of the French city of Lyon. Then came Vallnord in Andorra for the second stage, with waves of 100 riders hurtling down the Pyrenean slopes from the Cubil peak at an  altitude of 2,500 metres. This time it’s off to Alpe d’Huez in the French Alps for the legendary Megavalanche, with 1,400 riders starting in the snow of the Sarenne glacier, the biggest downhill race in the world with a vertical drop exceeding 4,000 metres. The last stage will be in Innerleithen, Scotland, with a magical enduro course through the Scottish mountains, a race lasting several days and covering fairytale Scottish countryside.
