World Air Games 2015

December 2015, Dubai (UAE)

The FAI World Air Games, conducted under the rules of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), is the premier international multi-discipline air sports event fielding the world’s top athletes. The 2015 edition of the FAI World Air Games has been awarded to the United Arab Emirates for the first time and will be held in Dubai from 1 to 12 December 2015, presenting an array of 11 sports and 24 disciplines.
More than 1000 athletes, crews and officials will be involved in the multi air sports event. It will be the biggest FAI World Air Games ever organised. The event is held by World Air Sports Federation FAI, the world governing body for air sports and for certifying world aviation and space records. It was founded in 1905 and is a non-governmental and non-profit-making organisation. The vision of the FAI is to hold the World Air Games every 4 years and to combine the world’s best air sports athletes in a major event to compete, promote their discipline, demonstrate their professionalism and inspire future generations. Past editions of the Games took place in Turkey (1997), Spain (2001) and Italy (2009)
