The GKA Kite World Tour Freestyle Kite World Tour 2026 opens in Nuevo Nayarit from 26 to 30 May, where the world’s best freestyle kiteboarders begin their campaigns for this year’s world championship titles. Mexico’s Pacific coast offers ideal freestyle conditions, with warm temperatures, reliable thermal winds, flat-water sections, and rolling chop creating the perfect setting for powered tricks and technical progression. In the women’s division, reigning world champion Bruna Kajiya (BRA) arrives after securing her sixth Freestyle world title last season and remains one of the leading favorites. Spain’s Claudia León returns fully fit after injury and targets her first world title, while Poland’s Martyna Konkel continues to establish herself among the top contenders. Local athletes Ananda Gamio and Aleksa Sanchez will represent Mexico. The men’s fleet features 21 riders from 12 nations, led by reigning world champion Finn Flügel (GER). Italy’s Matteo Dorotini, last season’s runner-up, is again among the frontrunners, while former world champion Maxime Chabloz (SUI) returns with title ambitions. Gianmaria Coccoluto (ITA) and Arthur Guillebert (FRA) add further experience to a highly competitive field. With world-class riders, strong wind conditions, and the debut of Nuevo Nayarit on the tour calendar, the GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup Mexico 2026 promises a spectacular opening event filled with progression, rivalries, and elite freestyle action.
