GKA Kite-Surf World Cup Cape Verde 2026

February 16th - 21st, 2026, Sal (CPV)

The opening battles of the 2026 Kite-Surf season are set to kick off once again in the iconic waves of Cape Verde’s Sal island, where the world’s best riders begin their title campaigns. The GKA Kite-Surf World Cup Cape Verde 2026 will likely play out at the legendary right-hander of Ponta Preta, with Kite Beach on standby depending on conditions. Women’s world champion Capucine Delannoy returns to open the defence of her crown after beginning last season with a milestone win at this very spot, though reigning men’s champion Pedro Matos will miss the stop where he claimed victory last year. Airton Cozzolino heads the men’s field, with Gabriel Benetton, Sebastian Ribeiro, James Carew and Artur Morais all in contention, while the expanding women’s line-up features strong challengers in Kesiane Rodrigues and Serena Luz. Local favourites Mitu Monteiro and Matchu Lopes are also set to ignite the action in front of the Cape Verde crowd.
