The mountainbike marathon world's elite meet at the Scott Mediterranean Epic 2026: Once again it is one of the first clashes of the mountainbike marathon season and remains a UCI Hors Catégorie race. During four stages from Thursday – Sunday, in the Castellón region, in the city of Oropesa del Mar, the best male and female mountainbiker battle it out. Hundreds of mountainbiker from more than 30 nations, among them European Champions and national title holders tackle more than 220km and almost 5.000 meters of climbing. Among the favorites are the former Cape Epic champions Lukas Baum and Georg Egger from Germany, back-to-back Mediterranean Epic winner Wout Alleman (BEL) as well as the Olympian Charlie Aldridge (GBR). In the women category back-to-back Mediterranean Epic winner Rosa Van Doorn (NED) is the big favorite.
