Wingfoil World Champions to be crowned in Surf-Freestyle discipline

From August 5th to 8th the world’s best wingfoilers will compete on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria for the Surf-Freestyle world champion title. A full roster of 28 men, accompanied by 14 women, from 12 nations around the world, are set to battle it out at Playa El Burrero, the third successive year that Gran Canaria has hosted a GWA World Cup. Reigning two-time Surf-Freestyle world champions and current overall leaders, the US’s Chris MacDonald and Spain’s Nia Suardiaz will go into the final World Cup as the favourites. Closely behind the leading duo are Benjamin Castenskiold (DEN) and Tomas Acherer (AUT) in the men’s, as well as Mar De Arce (ESP) and Manon Dupé (FRA) in the women’s overall rankings.
