Kitzsteinhorn/ Zell am See-Kaprun (Austria)

From 27th February to 3rd March 2013 the freeski community gets together in Zell am See - Kaprun for the annual slopestyle contest and will battle for the crown of the Austrian Freeski Open. The Austrian Freeski Open by Atomic will be kicked off by the Freeski Night Show at Zell am See on February 27, 2013. An attractive package of side events, concerts and DJ acts will turn Zell am See - Kaprun into the centre of freeskiing.

Back in the days, the Austrian Freeski Open was one of the first freeski slopestyle events and one of the trailblazers of his discipline that has gained olympic honour now. Born in Schroecken (AUT) in the 2002/03 Winter, the contest has grown alongside the booming scene and evolved into one of the most important freeski events. Some of today's super stars once kick-started their career with a vitory at the Austrian Freeski Open, including Russ Henshaw, Kevin Rolland, Elias Ambuehl and Kai Mahler.
