June 22 to 24, 2018 – Gastein (AUT)

The prologue (Vertical Open) of the first adidas INFINITE TRAILS World Championships in the SalzburgerLand (Gastein Valley) startet highly motivated on Friday, June 22nd: The trailrunners had a tough race on the track – although the route had to be shortened due to the weather conditions.

Then, the newly created event came to an early end, regretfully: The following relay race which was planned for Sunday, June 24th, was cancelled due to extreme weather forecasts – an unanimously decision of the Race & Safety Commission in favour of the safety of runners, crew members and volunteers. The decision of the team World Championships in trailrunning is thus postponed to the 2019 edition.
