Frustration and elation, bitterness and cheers - it's the passion of thousands of participants that has helped the Maratona dles Dolomites to gain its preeminent status in the world of road cycling. Already for a quarter-century now, this single-day marathon race annually leads the participants through the most beautiful valleys and over the most challenging passes of the Dolomites - stunning views and majestic mountain ranges included!

The 2011 edition will take place on Sunday, July 10th 2011, on three routes that differ in length and difficulty. Each participant chooses the route he wants to ride. He can even change his choice in the course of the race. The longest route covers 138 kilometres and an altitude difference of 4,190 metres, leading over legendary Alpine passes like Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, Giau or Falzarego and through classic Dolomite villages like Corvara, Arabba or San Cassiano. The mid-length route is 106 kilometres long, with an altitude difference of 3.090 metres. And at the short "Sellaronda" route, the participants have to cope with 55 kilometres as well as an altitude difference of 1.780 metres.
