Snowboarding: finally back at the Olympic Stadium!

The dream of all German snowboard fans comes true: after a three-year break, the world elite of snowboarding will finally return to Munich's Olympic Stadium for the Air & Style Munich 2011 on February 12 2011. A new title sponsor as well as the commitment of local politicians allowed for the homecoming of the "mother of all snowboard events" to the Bavarian capital. The first series of Air & Style competitions in Munich from 2005 to 2007 showed the city as a successful precursor to in-city snowboard events attracting way more people than events in the mountains. With the new commitment to the Air & Style, Munich aims to position itself as candidate city for the Olympic Winter Games of 2018 and to show the winter sports enthusiasm of its population as well as its competence in holding successful major events.
