Splashdiving: Canonballs over Nuremberg

Splashdiving World Championship 2008

August 15th & 17th 2008, Nuremberg (Germany)

At this competition, sports is still fun and fun is still sports! On August 15th till 17th 2008, Nuremberg will be all about cannonball diving. At the Splashdiving World Championship, the international crème de la crème of freestyle diving will gather to hold the big showdown fight for titles and ranks. Splashdiving is the new mass sports in freestyle cannonball diving and was founded in Germany. The term embraces all dives into the water that athletes do from a diving board or diving platform in a “free” manner. The clou: when landing, the athlete touches the water surface with the maximal possible skin surface of his body. In marked contrast to the Olympic sports of high diving or springboard diving the goal of splashdiving is to push away as much water as possible as loud as possible.
