Thomas Morgenstern: the double gold medallist

Sports enthusiasts from all over the world know this name: Thomas Morgenstern was double Olympic champion at the Olympic Winter Games Torino 2006 (at the Large Hill competition and at the team competition) and won the overall world cup in the 2007/08 season. Then, he managed to win the first six world cup competitions consecutively - a record that will stand forever! During the 2008/09 world cup season, he stood on the podium ten times and won three competitions. Morgenstern, who was born on the 30th of October 1986 at Spittal an der Drau, Austria, has played a role in the world`s top positions since the 2002/03 Four Hills Tournament when he became sixth in the overall ranking aged only 16. Apart from ski jumping, Morgenstern also loves flying (he got the pilot`s licence in 2008) and driving rally cars.
