Deep Blue Open 2004

Deep Blue Open 2004

Some of the worlds finest wave surfers will conquer the paradise in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives are truly among natures  most beautiful landscapes. But they have more to bear - sensational waves. The unique waves, as big as houses, found in these sapphire waters are the product of a consistent pulse that marches up from Indonesia. Many of the waves are only accessible by boat and together they provide one of the most refreshing and diverse high performance surf areas on the planet. Held on the Maldives every year since 2001, the O'Neill Deep Blue Open is a regular contest in the World Qualifying Series (WQS) of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP). Since 2004, it's been classified as a six star contest with a prizemoney of US$ 125,000 - the most desirable title on the tour.
