The Arctic Challenge from February 18th to 23rd 2008 is truly a superlative event: At this 6-star competition of the Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour (TTR), the world's best quarter-pipe specialists present the highest and most spectacular jumps of the whole series. At the 2001 event, Finnish snowboarder Heikki Sorsa showed a 9.3-metre jump: in 2007, snowboard legend Terje Haakonsen (who is also one of the organizers of this event) broke this record with an incredible 9.8-metre jump. With a new quarter-pipe construction for 2008 an the move from Midtstuen to Holmenkollen, the organizers now try to crack the ten-metre mark. At the famous ski jump area, there will also be place for even more spectators.
