Skicross is the new alpine discipline surpassing many of the classic ski race disciplines. With its thrilling and stunning races, skicross captivates all ski fanatics and sport enthusiasts. On the skicross run, huge kickers and jumps, enormous turns and breathtaking speed passages have to be mastered by the athletes.
But it's not only the race course that demands everything from the skiers - thrace mode is exciting too as four racestart at the same time and fight for victory in thrilling races. With the heats being physically very demanding, skicrosathletes have to be totally dedicated their sports and need a lot of experience. Besides a lightning reaction they nethe absolute will to win.

In the last years, skicross has developed to an original discipline with a steady place in the FIS event calendar. For the fourth time in a row, SAAB Salomon presents the Crossmax International World Tour. With more than 35 events in twelve countries, this series is one of the biggest skicross tours in the world. The winner of the series will qualify for the world championships taking place at the X Games 2006 in USA.

3rd Tour Stop in Vail / USA

From 19th - 22nd the SAAB Salomon Crossmax Series will be hosted by Vail, Colorado, which is one of the best-known ski and snowboarding resorts of the USA. In the context of the US Freeskiing Open this season's best freeskiiers will challenge each other here in order to get a good starting position for the final taking place in Sweden at the end of March.
