Snowboarding: top-notch summer events

Australian Open

Perisher Blue (Australia)
Snowboarding is not only a winter sport - in the summer of 2007, the season
continued smoothly with three high-carat events! From July to September, riders
fought for the first precious points for the Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour
(TTR) and travelled the northern and southern hemisphere while doing so.

Snowboard in Down Under
The Australian Open was the last of the three important TTR summer events. In 2007,
it took place from August 21st to 26th at Perisher Blue Ski Resort in the Southeast of
Australia. With 50 ski lifts, Perisher Blue in the midst of the Snowy Mountains is the
biggest ski resort down under. Instead of kangaroos though, snowboarders jumped
around here showing their breathtaking tricks at the half-pipe and the slopestyle course.
Among the participants: Andy Finch (USA), Michal Ligocki (POL), Torstein Horgmo
(NOR), Kazuhiro Kokubo (JPN) and Chas Guldemond (USA) as well as Kelly Clark
(USA), Jamie Anderson (USA), Elizabeth Beerman (USA) and Juliane Bray (NZE).
