Burton Abominable Snow Jam 2007 - Highlight

Abominable Snow Jam

Mt. Hood (USA)

Snowboarding is not only a winter sport - in the summer of 2007, the season continued smoothly with three high-carat events! From July to September, riders fought for the first precious points for the Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour (TTR) and travelled the northern and southern hemisphere while doing so.
The renowned 5-star event Abominable Snow Jam 2007  (July 10th to 12th 2007) at Mt. Hood, Oregon, USA, marked the beginning of the  2007/08 TTR series. Sporting a first-class line-up, the event took place for the fourth time. Not far from the famous Timberline Lodge (well-known from the Jack Nicholson movie 'Shining'), the participants showed top-notch performances in the half-pipe, quarter-pipe and slopestyle disciplines. The incredible US$ 140,000 prize-purse included a Volvo C30, two Harley Davidson motorbikes, a Rolex watch and loads of cash. Apart from US boys like Danny Kass, Kevin Pearce, Scotty Lago and Keir Dillon, also strong Europeans like Torstein Horgmo (NOR), Mikkel Bang (NOR) or Jussi Oksanen (FIN) were at the start. At the women's, the Olympic athletes Gretchen Bleiler (USA), Kelly Clark (USA) and Elena Hight (USA) repeated their Torino duels.
