Climbing: One Year in the Life of Climber Fabian Buhl

Dare To Live Your Dream

Fabian Buhl (26) from Oberstaufen (GER) is a passionate climber. Although he’s had a fairly late start into the sport at the age of 16, the young German soon attracted the attention of the climbing community due to his rapid evolution. At first he only focused on bouldering, which is climbing over a crash pad without a rope. But a foot injury forced Fabian to take a break and he started multi-pitch climbing by tackling the master pieces of climbing legends Beat Kammerlander and Alexander Huber - like: “Nirwana”, “Silbergeier” and “Feuertaufe”.

After mastering these climbs, Buhl knew he was ready to take on a new challenge - solo-redpointing. He chose to tackle the Wetterbockwand in winter via the long approach across "Wilder Freithof", a steep couloir which is extremely exposed with a high danger of avalanches.
