At a time of the year when the ordinary tourist of the Northern Hemisphere is busy with sunbathing on the beach, the world’s best snowboarders already kick off their new season: from August the12th to the 13th 2011, they will collect precious points for the 7th annual Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour (TTR) at the New Zealand Open at Lake Wanaka on New Zealand’s South Island. Months before the world’s most important snowboard tour will hit the mountains of the northern part of the planet, it already starts its trip around the globe with this exciting 5-star competition at Cardrona Alpine Resort. Due to a first-class freestyle set-up with an Olympic-size super-pipe and a demanding terrain park, it is the romping place for the snowboard stars in New Zealand’s winter. Here, they not only practice for the upcoming winter in the northern hemisphere but also collect points for the TTR ranking. Amidst the spectacular Cardrona mountain range, the pro riders already set the course for the further success of the season!
