After the electrifying events in Sotchi (RUS), Squaw Valley (USA) and Tignes (FRA), it was time for the big finals of the Freeride World Tour 2009: the Xtreme 2009 in Verbier (SUI) from March 21st to 29th, 2009! Since its beginnings in 1996, the Xtreme has been considered the most prestigious event in the freeride world. For the "Finale Grande" of the Freeride World Tour, the elite of freeride skiing and snowboarding again tackled the mythical North Face of the Bec des Rosses, a dauntingly steep and frighteningly jagged 500-vertical-metre rock-face, and painted the decisive lines on their way to the world championship.
