Mammut Biggest Peak Project 4 - Italy & Norway

Mountain sports: 150 climbing adventures all over the world

150 Peaks Project

Speedflying at Mt. Etna (ITA) & Ski Touring at Lofoten (NOR)

It´s the biggest active volcano in Europe: Sicily´s Mt. Etna, towering 3,329 metes above the Mediterranean Sea. Here, two speedflyers did a world premiere: they were the first ever to ride a volcano with paragliders and skis. In the winter of 2012, two Italian speedflying pros Felice Boccanegra and Jody Barratin together with two mountain guides dared to ascent the volcano between two active phases, only to hunt down to the valley again with their paragliders and skis.
Another exciting ski tour was done by a group of female Scandinavian athletes who climbed the Geitgaljen on Norwegian archipelago Lofoten in the April of 2012. On one of the highest peaks of Lofoten, the group around Ingvill Pettersen (NOR) and freeskier Anja Bolbjerg (DEN) experienced an unforgettable skiing day with blue skies and a fantastic view on the snow-covered alpine scenery and the fjords in the valley.
