Indoor Skydiving in a vertical wind tunnel

3rd FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving

25-28 October, 2018, Zallaq (BHR)

The Gravity Indoor Skydiving hosts the 3rd FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving 2018. The event location lies in Zallaq, the South West area of Bahrain, and next to the Bahrain International Circuit (Formula 1 Track). Bodyflight – or also Indoor Skydiving – is a new and revolutionary sport which allows to fly in a vertical recirculatory wind tunnel.

This technology simulates true free falling. The sport of bodyflight is recognized by the FAI, an organization supporting several worldwide annual competitions. Gravity is a recirculating Aerodium Technologies, round wall-to-wall wind tunnel, with a diameter of 4.3 meters up to a height of 5 meters then extending to 5.5 meters diameter at a height of 12 meters and a full chamber height of 19.6 meters, 12 meters of which is full glass.

There is also a decompression chamber allowing flyers to enter and exit the tunnel at any time without disrupting flight operations. Gravity Indoor Skydiving is one of the only wind tunnels in the world to have an entrance door into the flight chamber, at a height of 14 meters that can be used by pro-flyers as an entrance into the chamber while the wind speed is flowing. Airspeed can be adjusted and set according to competitor’s requirements and official competition rules.

This exciting sport sees teams or individuals of skydivers perform an exact routine in diverse categories inside the described wind tunnel.
