Mountain sports: multifaceted extreme relay race

Peak To Creek 2015

April 25th 2015, Oetztal Valley (Austria)

From winter to summer, from snow to water, from the mountain to the valley – with a new route and event format, multi-sports competition Peak To Creek at Tirol’s Oetz Valley goes into its sixth edition. Ski mountaineering, alpine skiing, mountain biking, mountain running, rock climbing, road bicycle racing, kayaking and rafting: the adrenaline-packed competition for teams of seven is a one-of-a-kind outdoor relay race that takes the participants across 90 km through the heart of Tirol. On April 25, 2015, it leads them from the snow-covered starting area at Rettenbach Glacier to the cold waters of Oetztaler Ache river and on to Area 47. The 2015 Peak To Creek field includes lots of international pro athletes, such as road cyclist Jan Ullrich (GER), Olympic mountain bike champion Bart Brentjens (NED), vice world slalom champion in alpine skiing, Manfred Moelgg (ITA), 2012 Olympic white water kayak silver medallist, Vavrinec Hradilek (CZE), MTB Enduro champion Alex Stock (GBR), Austrian ski mountaineering champion, Alex Fasser (AUT), world canoe slalom champion Fabian Doerfler (GER), 2014 Tour of Austria winner, Thomas Rohregger (AUT), and free solo climber Hansjoerg Auer (AUT). For the first time, ambitious amateurs will get the opportunity to challenge the international athletes and compete in „rookie teams“ in front of the fantastic backdrop of the Oetz Valley mountain ranges.
